This is your weekly Friday Tiny Dig, or Diglet, where I talked to someone

smart about the past week's news. Unsurprisingly, that news has been horrendous. The Trump

administration, just as Houston, started looking ahead at a long, expensive, and painful

recovery, and as yet another hurricane,

Irma, loomed off the coast, announced that it will end DACA, a program that provides protection

from deportation to young undocumented immigrants who came to this country as children.

Outrageous but hardly surprising, the move, if Congress does enact, will mean that some 800,000 people who, by and large, know no other

country but this one, and who, thanks to DACA, have been able to work and go to college, will be eligible for deportation.

It is, even by the brutal standards of this country's history of immigration enforcement,

spectacularly cruel.

My guest today is Cesar Guatomac Garcia-Arernandez, a professor of law at the University of Denver,

and the author of the Always-Enlightening, often depressing blog, Crimmigration.com.
