I've learned so much from you over the years on the

topic we are going to discuss today. But the thing I love the most about your own journey with gardening

is that you weren't a professional from like day one. This was something that was a passion of

yours, a hobby for a very long time until it did turn into more of your profession,

which we'll hear more about today. But I wanted to begin with those amateur roots and how you got

started into gardening. So I kind of go back to my childhood. And my mom and dad, they were both

big gardeners. My mom was more into flower gardening, and my dad was a big

tiny vegetable gardener. And that is where I spent my childhood, barefoot, picking berries,

picking peas. And I loved it so much. And the irony to it is when I was in high school,

I actually wanted to go into landscape architecture. And I hate to admit this now, but during

that time, I was deterred by a lot of people saying that's not a great profession for a woman.
