From old farmhouses to grand halls and ancient dwellings, they're scattered all about the country.

Let's talk about one of these locations that has a screaming skull.

Burton Agnes is a beautiful village in the east hiding of Yorkshire.

The village has several cottages, a church, and a great hall.

This hall was the home of the Boyntons.

Burton Agnes Hall, as it stands today, was built from 1601 to 1610 by Sir Henry Griffith.

It's a large building of red brick with a mixture of Elizabethan, Tudor, and Jacobian styles.

It has a long broken façade with many windows.

Inside is a grand hall, a magnificent staircase, a gallery full of paintings, hand-carved woodwork,

and a curious piece of artwork over the fireplace, which represents the Empire of Death.

All in all, the inside and the outside of Burton-Agnes Hall is absolutely magnificent.

Money was no object, so the family called in the best architects of the time to furnish designs,
