I'm a former member of the swim team, but these days I'm so afraid of water I can't even

enter the kiddies pool. This is a story about why. One winter, a few years ago, my friend

S invited me around to his house around 10pm. I had the following day off with no particular

plans, so I answered and agreed to go over.

He was a womanizer who'd been caught up in more than his fair share of troubles.

He was also self-centered, with few friends.

And so I prepared myself for the inevitable.

As soon as I got there, S threw some clothes at me and said we were going night fishing.

I was dressed in pretty light clothing, so I most definitely would have been cold out there.

Just a coat will be fine, I said, but he said we'd be getting dirty, so I should put all of it on.

That was rather sensible of him, considering how self-centered he was.

S&I had a similar body type, so his clothes fit me perfectly.
