We turned 10 years old. That means 10 years of questions like this.

The first controlled nuclear reaction took place under University of Chicago's Stagg Field, and I'm wondering if that site

is still radioactive.

My question is, what is the history of Dunning, insane asylum, and the people who have died

here and the people who are buried and unknown?

And so it did get me curious as to what the story was behind that.

I was curious to know how the 1919 race riot started in the city of Chicago.

And in the spirit of our show and our inquisitive listeners, we decided to ask some questions

ourselves, about ourselves, and about curious cities' humble beginnings.

And so as the show enters its preteen years, we did what many intrepid and curious young people

do at this age. We went to our parent, or in this case, our founder, Jennifer Brandeel, to find out where

we came from, what they remember about our growing up, and what they envisioned for

curiosity down the road.
