0:00.0	Hello and welcome back to the Curious Kid Podcast. I was born more than 15,000 days ago. I've
0:29.2	experienced a lot in all that time, but there is very little I remember from my childhood.
0:34.1	I'll share one story with you from when I was around Olivia's age. I wanted to be in the
0:39.0	band in school. One day, they gathered all the kids in the school auditorium and they handed each of us
0:44.3	index cards. Then they asked a few questions about music basics to see if we understood some of the
0:50.6	basic concepts of music. We wrote our answers down on the index cards. After they
0:55.7	were done testing our music knowledge, they asked us to list three instruments on the other side
1:01.0	of the index card. The list was supposed to have the three instruments we wanted to play the most,
1:06.8	with our favorite instruments at number one and our backup options at two and three.
1:11.7	My top choice was the slide trombone.
1:14.3	What an awesome instrument!
1:15.8	It looked like so much fun to play.
1:18.1	It turns out that I had a great score on the music test, so they welcomed me into the band.
1:23.5	The only problem was this.
1:24.8	The music instructor told me that my arms were too short to play the slide trombone.
1:30.2	For that reason, they gave me my second choice the clarinet.
1:33.9	Even though this happens to me way back in the 1980s, I still remember it pretty clearly.
