Hello and welcome back to the Curious Kid Podcast.

We are in the middle of August.

And here at Curious Kid Podcast headquarters, there is a lot going on.

The kids are going to camp.

We're spending a lot of time in the pool, playing lots of sports, attending some concerts and sporting events, and enjoying the nice warm weather.

The month of August is a great month, with a lot going for it.

Did you know that August was named for Augustus Caesar, who was the first ever Roman emperor, and also grand-nephew of Julius Caesar?

Lots of amazing things happened in August. Penicillin was discovered in August. Hawaii became the 50th state of the United States

in August, and women were given the very long overdue right to vote in August. But with all that August

has going for it, there is something unique about August. There are

no American national holidays in the month of August. Every other month has a national holiday,

but not August. So guess what we're getting curious about today? Mailbag!
