We all have hair, and our hair helps keep us warm in the winter.

But do we know what hair really is? Let's learn some interesting

things about hair. What's the question of the week?

The question of the week is, how long was the longest hair ever measured?

There is a lady in China by the name of Xi Shiping and she has the record for the world's longest

hair. She started growing her hair at the age of 13 and let it grow without interruption

for 30 years. That's right, no haircuts for 30 years. Let's see if you can guess how long her world record hair was.

What is hair made out of?

Hair is made from a protein called keratin.

It's the same protein that you can find in nails.

That's right. Hair and nails are both made from keratin.

Animals also have keratin in their feathers, claws, and horns.

All hair starts under the skin. All hair comes out of hair follicles located below the surface of the skin.

There is a hair bulb at the bottom of the hair follicle that is supplied by blood vessels and is where hair growth starts.

Hair grows in three stages.

The first stage is called adogen. That's when your hair grows. About 90% of your hair
