Hello and welcome back to the Curious Kid podcast.

Our topic for this week's episode was suggested by two listeners that live about 1,400 miles away from each other.

One of those listeners lives in Austin, Texas, which is in the southern part of the United States,

very close to our neighbors to the south, Mexico.

The other listener is from Howell, Michigan, which is in the northern part of the United States,

very close to our neighbors to the north, Canada.

Despite living so far away from each other, both of our super awesome listeners

live in the United States, which means that they share the same flag. You know the one, the red,

white, and blue one with the stars and stripes. But where did that flag come from? Why does it

look the way it does? Why do all countries have their own flags? Let's learn more.
