Hello and welcome back to the Curious Kid podcast. Back in 2024, I was working at a pharmacy

when something unusual happened. As a pharmacist, it's really important that I stay very focused

and pay close attention to my work. If I make mistakes at work, the results could be

pretty bad, because it's my job to help provide medications to people that need them. It's a lot of

responsibility. Everyone I worked with at the pharmacy also had to be sure to work hard and avoid

distractions. On April 8th, 24, we all had to take a short break in the

middle of the day because something was happening that was making it hard for lots of us to focus.

It was a rare event that we wanted to witness. It was a total solar eclipse. From our vantage point in New Jersey, it was really more like an 80% solar eclipse.

The path of the total eclipse was a few hundred miles west of New Jersey,

covering Ohio and points southwest from there through central Texas and beyond.

People get so hyped for eclipses that they travel to locations where they can get a really

great view just to witness an eclipse.

This week, we're going to learn what eclipses are, how they happen, why they don't happen

all the time, and some of the most amazing eclipse moments in history.
