Tonight's tale is about a woman whose personality is, let's just say, quite infectious.

A thick fog of human sweat clouded the room.

Pain radiated from body parts and muscles that had long laid dormant, now forced into

the use.

Crys of anguish and whimpering pleased blended into a deafening hum of agony.

Body cracked and groaned as they bent into unusual positions.

Some releasing gases and odors usually restricted to the privacy of a bathroom, or held for

the driver's side seat of an otherwise vacant car.

Shame was left to those that lacked focus.

The almost unbearable heat created a suffocating blanket of sweltering hot air.

The atmosphere felt almost toxic, yet everyone in the room had paid to be there.

This was what they signed up for.

This was Hot Yoga.

I had only been teaching the class for about a year when I first met Mallory Oliver, a thin

wide eyed woman with a passion for healthy living.

She was eager to learn and aggressively open to new ideas about bodywork.

She had come to my class like many others via a flyer on the cork board in an organic smoothie

shop, sweat out your imperfections.
