Welcome to Home of the Brave. It's Thursday, October 15th, and I'm back in Salt Lake City, sitting on my front porch looking out across the Great Salt Lake Valley.

It's 8 a.m. people are getting up going to work, or getting up and not going to work.

I got back a week ago and had a COVID test that came back negative.

So that was a big relief to know

that I wasn't driving around spreading the virus.

I came back with a lot of good interviews, maybe the best I've ever recorded, and now I need to edit them down into one longer story.

And I was thinking that I should finish it before the election, but now I'm thinking I'm just too worn out mentally and physically.

I feel like I've been in a war zone.

I feel like I'm still in a war zone,

and I'm not, I'm not actually in a war zone, and I'm not, I'm not actually in a war zone, so I need to work on that.

First, I think by voting, I've received a mail-in ballot. It looks straightforward enough. So I'm

going to fill it out being careful that my signature matches the signature on my driver's license.

And then I'm going to trust my mailman to deliver it to the right location, and I'm going

to trust the vote counters to be honest, and I'm going to trust the vote counters to be honest and I'm going to trust that we can have a fair and free election

where Donald Trump loses in a landslide

I'm going to be trusting that the system will work even though that's against my

nature because without trust we can't have an election with a declared winner and loser.

And if we can't do that,

then we really will be in a war zone.
