Summary

Prudence is joined this week by Molly Priddy, a writer and editor living in Minnesota. She likes Diet Coke, her dog, and talking about feelings because feelings are the worst.

Prudie and Priddy tackle letters about how to admit to your date that you’re a recovering alcoholic and you’d rather not meet in a bar, what actions to take when your best friend has joined a cult, what to do when you’re exhausted from supporting your friend’s year long quest for employment, how to decide if you should ask your dad for tuition now that you’re middle aged and starting school again, can you remain close with a friend who has been verbally hurtful to many mutual acquaintances. Also, Prudie and Priddy check out a voicemail from a machine shop worker who found out she’s making parts that will ultimately be used to help ICE capture people crossing the border.

It's been a long time listener. A long time listener. First time. Long time listener. Long time friend.

And how's, how's Minnesota today? How's Minnesota treating you?

1:28.3

I tell you what, this place is humid, but I've had so much fun. I've been living here for about 10 days.

1:34.6

And I went to a Renaissance festival. I experienced a queer dance party. I experienced a home game for the Minnesota Vikings. There's just so much going on here. I'm having so much fun. I am so excited for you. And I don't know that I would have guessed that the switch from Montana to Minnesota would be moving from non-humid to humid, but it doesn't sense to me. It makes my hair look awesome, though. My skin is glowing. I, you know, it's, it's a good change. I feel like superwoman because

there's more oxygen down here. Is there really? What? Yeah. I was living at like 3,000 feet. Here it's like

2:07.6

800 feet. You're living at sea level, so you're basically like all the oxygen. I thought you meant like

2:14.2

Montana had less oxygen than Minnesota just as a state. And I thought that can't possibly be true. We just voted it out. Yeah, we don't pay enough oxygen taxes. Let's leave that to the side for now. Would you please read our very first letter? It is nice and short. Sure, no problem. Dear Prudence, I met a nice lady on the train the other day. We chatted and I thought we had a connection. My problem is that I'm a recovering alcoholic. Should I tell her? I do like her, but I'm not sure that I'm in a good place at the moment for a relationship. I realize I can't expect her to understand that. I don't want her to upset her as I've met for coffee a few times, but I make excuses as to why I don't like pubs, help.

So the pubs line is what made me suspect that perhaps this writer is from the UK.
