I'd only lived in New York for a few weeks when I first saw Chris Gethert.

It was at an improv show with a Halloween theme, and at the door everyone was warned that your clothes might get dirty.

And of course, at the end of the show, half of us were caked in fake blood.

There were lots of performers on stage that night, but Chris Gathert stood out. He was very funny, but mostly

it was that he was intense and kind of weird. And then I started seeing him everywhere, first on a commercial, then on the office, and then on

Louis, but I also saw him on the subway. Chris Gathert didn't feel like a celebrity to me. He felt like a guy I knew who got to

hang out sometimes with famous people.
