Hello everybody and welcome back to Rev Left Radio.

All right, on today's episode, we have the one and only Abby Martin and Matt Ballin on the show,

the co-directors of Cuba after Castro, the island in the crosshairs, a new interview slash archival

documentary, uh, interview with Miguel Diaz Canal, the, the president of Cuba, um, with a background

archival footage of the history of the Cuban revolution. Diaz Canal, as you'll hear in this

interview, was born one year after the revolution. So literally, you know, born, bred and raised in post-revolutionary Cuba, and now finds himself as the leader of the government in Cuba under increasingly dire straits with this fascistic, disgusting, rogue terrorist American Empire State, particularly under Trump, but also under

Democrats, as we know, imposing this barbaric and increasingly straight-up genocidal embargo on

the island of Cuba, an island that has never invaded anybody, never bombed anybody, one of the

most peaceful countries on planet Earth, and one of the most violent countries on planet Earth, the United States, maybe one of the most violent terrorist countries in the history of humanity, has imposed a generations-long, brutal economic blockade on that country, disallowing it from trading with the United States

and anybody that wants to trade with the United States also can't trade with Cuba.

And under the Trump second term, the pressure has been ratcheted up to the point where fuel can't

even get in. Basic food and medicine can't even get in.

This is a country that is impoverished by and specifically for the interests of the U.S.

They have never forgiven the Cuban people for overthrowing their disgusting puppet dictatorship Batista in the 1950s.

And they continue to inflict psychopathic harm on

regular Cuban citizens, babies, toddlers, grandmothers, innocent men, women, and children who just

want to live their lives are faced daily with this disgusting, brutal embargo that strips them of the basic necessities of human

life. And when we look over at Palestine, we see a full-on genocide, bombing campaigns, just mass

murdering campaigns. And in Cuba, we don't see the mass murdering yet, although Trump and Rubio

have alluded many times to the fact that they would like to invade and topple the government, maybe Maduro style, maybe Iran style, maybe Palestine style.

But in the meantime, they're setting the stage for it by doing one of the classic strategic moves of the U.S. Empire, which is, as Henry Kissinger infamously said, making the economy scream.
