part 3. The And the When we left off, the kids in Mount Trout had traveled back to ancient Egypt, where they witnessed a blend

of eerie rituals and historical traditions.

The movie portrayed a dramatic feast of the ghosts, while the book delved deeper into real customs like the Feast of the Valley,

where the living brought offerings to the dead.

While the movie leaned on fast-paced action with Pipkin slipping away, the book took its time weaving in the Osiris

myth and connecting Egypt's ideas of death and rebirth to the core themes of Halloween.

From there the story took a dark turn in the book as the kids

encountered the druid God sowin, a towering figure punishing the dead by

turning them into beasts. They witnessed the fall of the druids to the Romans and the eventual rise of Christianity.

The movie skipped all of this and went straight into a chaotic broom festival,

but in both versions the kids ended up soaring across Europe on broomsticks before

landing in Paris where the next leg of their journey awaits.
