dwarves had left Baggin on their quest and before too long they're captured

by three trolls who intend to eat them.

Their fate changes when Bilboe stalls the trolls giving the sun enough time to rise. Then Gandalf exposes the trolls to

daylight turning them to stone. In the trolls hoard they find and claim some cool

Elvin swords. Afterward they encounter the eccentric wizard Radagas the brown who isn't in the book.

He tells them about a strange dark power that's been growing in the forest which alarms Gandhout.

During their encounter, the company is attacked by

Orks led by Aesog, an old enemy of Thorns who's out for revenge. The company then

journeys to Rivendel, where Elron, the Elvin Lord, provides crucial help by interpreting
