Today is day 170 of this journey.

We are in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 7, reading verses 32 through 52 52 and today we will hear Jesus speak about the rivers of living water. I'm reading as always from the new American translation of the

Bible but before we begin let's pray. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John,

chapter 7 verses 32 through 52.

The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring about him to this effect.

The chief priests and the Pharisees sent guards to arrest him.

So Jesus said, I will be with you only a little while longer, and then I will go to the one who sent me.

You will look for me, but not find me.

And where I am, you cannot come.

So the Jews said to one another, where is he going that we will not find him?

Surely he is not going to the desperation among the Greeks to teach the Greeks, is he?

What is the meaning of his saying, you will look for me and not find me, and where I am, you cannot come?

On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and exclaimed,
