We are reading the Gospel of Luke, specifically chapter 13, verses 1 through 34.

In this, we will hear Jesus state, once again, a call for repentance.

I'm reading from the New American translation of the Bible, but before we get to that, let's pray.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke, chapter 13,

verses 1 through 34. At that time, some people who were present there told him about the Galileans whose blood,

Pilate, had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices.

He said to them in reply, do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way,

they were greater sinners than other Galileans?

By no means. But I tell you, if you do not repent,

you will all perish as they did. Or those 18 people who were killed when the Tower of Silum fell on them.

Do you think they were more guilty than everyone else who lived in Jerusalem? By no means, but I tell you,
