Hey, welcome back to the Catholic Spouts podcast where we are reading all of the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 126 of this journey in the Gospel of Luke, and today we are reading chapter 10 verses 25 through 42,

where we will hear Jesus share the parable of the Good Samaritan. Now, I'm reading from the

New American translation of the Bible. As always, consider following along or taking notes.

But first, join me in prayer. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created.

And you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke, chapter 10, through 42 there was a scholar of the law who stood up

and tested him and said teacher what must I do to inherit eternal life jesus said to him what is

written in the law how do you read read it? He said in reply,

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength,

and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself. He replied to him,

You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live. But because he was to

justify himself, he said to Jesus, and who is my neighbor? Jesus replied, a man fell victim to robbers

as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. They stripped and beat him and went off leaving him half dead.

A priest happened to be going down the road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
