Today is Day 116. We are in the Gospel of Luke.

Today, reading chapter 6 verses 1 through 19. In this part, we will in the gospel of Luke today reading chapter 6 verses 1 through 19 in this part we will hear the mission of the 12 now I am reading from the new American translation of the Bible but before we

dive in let's pray in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of

your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your spirits and they shall be

created and you will renew the face of the earth. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

amen. While he was going through a field of grain on a Sabbath, his disciples were picking the

heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating them. Some Pharisees said,

Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?

Jesus said to them in reply,

Have you not read what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry?

How he went into the house of God took the bread of offering,

which only the priests could lawfully eat, ate it, and shared

it with his companions. Then he said to them, the son of man is Lord of the Sabbath. On another

Sabbath he went into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.

The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely to see if he would cure on the Sabbath,

so that they might discover a reason to accuse him.

But he realized their intentions and said to the man with the withered hand,

Come up and stand before us, and he rose and said to the man with the withered hand, Come up and stand before us.
