You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

Hi, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, May 23rd, Tuesday in the sixth week of Easter.

0:28.6

I'm Amanda Texerra, one of your special guests this week.

0:31.6

My husband Jonathan and I started a company called Wallet Win to teach Catholics like you how to understand and use

0:38.7

our money like faithful disciples of Jesus. We're learning all about money this week. And yesterday,

0:44.9

we learned about being good stewards and the four things you can do with money. You can give,

0:51.0

save, invest, or spend it. Today, we'll learn about the most important thing you can do

1:27.4

tenth of all that they had.

1:29.5

Now, when Jesus came, he fulfilled the law and did away with the strict rule to give 10%.

1:35.2

But that doesn't mean we aren't asked to give anymore. Jesus now invites us to give generously

1:41.4

to God from a place of love and sometimes even more than 10%. Think about if a

1:48.0

friend gave you a gift. If you knew that they only gave it to you because they had to, it doesn't

1:53.3

mean as much. It might even make you feel bad. But if you knew they gave it to you because they loved

1:59.4

you and they wanted to, then it means

2:02.2

so much more.

2:03.9

It's the same way when we give our money to God and support the works of his church.

2:08.8

The catechism of the Catholic Church states that the faithful have the duty of providing
