| 0:49.9 | So way back in 1858, Mary appeared several times to a poor girl named Bernadette. |
| 0:59.8 | Bernadette was the daughter of a miller, but unfortunately their family was very poor, so poor in fact that they lived in a single room that had formerly been used by the city as a jail. |
| 1:14.3 | But the officials of this city realized that this place was so terrible to live in that it wasn't even fit to be a jail. |
| 1:22.0 | So Bernadette's family lived there. |
| 1:24.2 | Bernadette was very ill from the time that she was a little girl. |

| 1:32.0 | Even though she was a teenager, she hadn't received her first Holy Communion because |

| 2:03.3 | the river, and they went to a place that had been used for wealthier people to get rid of garbage |
| 2:09.3 | or even where hogs would live, and that's where they gathered their firewood. So Bernadette's sister |

| 2:20.6 | And as she knelt down, she suddenly heard a wind rushing and the leaves moving, but where she was was |
