| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:40.3 | Hey there, Spouse. Today is Friday, December 24th, 2021. Today is also, of course, Christmas Eve. So I hope that you are excited as I am excited, that if you're going to the evening mass tonight, that you're all ready and prepared to truly celebrate the miracle of Christmas, the incarnation |
| 0:48.5 | that God himself humbled himself to become a lowly human being. But he didn't even stop there. |
| 0:58.6 | He became an infant, an infant that was rejected before he was even born and sent to a barn |
| 1:05.7 | where his mother gave birth and were shepherds, shepherds who were not very well respected during the time of Jesus, |
| 1:15.2 | shepherds were sent to greet him. |
| 1:18.1 | What an amazing miracle we get to celebrate every year. |
| 1:21.1 | What an amazing God we have that he loved us enough to do that for us. |
| 1:27.4 | Now we are wrapping up the 10 points from the Summa Theologica from St. Thomas, |

| 1:39.1 | And so we have reasons number 9 and 10 today. |
| 1:41.7 | Reason number 9 is because the incarnation |
| 1:46.2 | calls us to humility, calls us to humility. All too often through our actions, we tell God, |
| 1:56.4 | you know what, I got this. I don't need you, right? I'm not going to turn to you in prayer. I'm not |
| 2:02.7 | going to offer you part of my income. I'm not going to worry you with this problem. I'm just going to |
| 2:08.2 | take care of it myself. But the incarnation reminds us that we are sinners, that we cannot pay |
| 2:15.6 | our own debt for sin, that God does indeed need to come |
| 2:19.9 | and rescue us, that he will. And that the way he rescues us is through humility. God does not |
| 2:29.2 | come to take on the Romans and lead a war, right? He came to fight Satan. And Satan, he wants us to be proud. |
| 2:39.8 | He wants us to be conceited. But God rejects all of that. And he conquers him through humility. |
| 2:47.0 | He conquers him by becoming a tiny baby, by being born in a barn, by living in |
