Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Fri sprouts. Today is Thursday, November 11th, 2021. Today is also the feast day of St. Martin of Tours. St. Martin was a soldier in the Emperor's Army. He lived during the 300s. One very cold night, he met a beggar shivering at the gates of the city, and he took out his sword, cut his own cloak in half,

and gave it to the poor beggar. Then in a dream, it was revealed to him that this beggar he met

was actually Christ in disguise.

From that moment, he asked to be baptized, became a monk, and later a bishop, giving everything

to Jesus Christ.

Now, all week, we have been sharing stories from our new book, which is called The Saints

and the Call to Friendship with Jesus Christ, where we're exploring

sometimes painful and hard feelings or experiences that we have, that saints also have,

and how God use these feelings and these experiences to make these people great saints.

Today we will be hearing the story of St. Clair of Assisi,

and this story is for anyone out there who is stubborn.

Now I know around my own breakfast table in my home,

there are several children who are very stubborn,

but the good news is that St. Clair was very stubborn,

but God used this part of her personality to make her a great saint.
