| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouse, the daily podcast, 2021. This week we are talking about discipleship. And we've already talked about the first two marks of a disciple. Number one, a disciple is called. Number two, a disciple responds. They say, |
| 0:42.1 | yes, Lord, I will follow you. Now, today is the feast day of St. Joseph of Arimathea and St. |
| 0:49.1 | Nicodemus. These are two very interesting saints because they knew Christ when he was alive, and yet, because they were prominent Jews, they were secret disciples of Christ. |
| 1:02.0 | However, they were called, they followed, and they loved Jesus till the end. |
| 1:08.8 | These two men took special care of Christ's body and reverently laid it in the tomb after he had been crucified. |
| 1:16.9 | So let's talk about the next three marks of being a disciple. |
| 1:22.1 | Number three, a disciple loves. |

| 1:54.5 | Each person he looked at he knew was made in the image and likeness of God himself. |
| 2:00.5 | So he loved. Mark likeness of God himself, so he loved. |
| 2:02.2 | Mark number four of a disciple is that they are obedient. |
| 2:08.4 | They are obedient. |
| 2:11.0 | This is hard. |
| 2:12.5 | It is hard to be obedient. |
| 2:15.3 | But when we are disciples of Jesus Christ, this means that we belong to the church |
| 2:20.8 | that he founded, the Catholic Church. Our church has existed since that very first day when Christ |
| 2:28.6 | commissioned St. Peter to be the first pope. So we are part of this church. And even though there might be some |
| 2:37.2 | things that we don't fully understand, we know that this church was founded by Jesus Christ, |
| 2:43.6 | and we are obedient. It is a good thing to seek a greater understanding of these teachings. |
| 2:50.2 | And I guarantee that if you do, you will |
| 2:52.8 | fall in love with them because they are full of truth and love. But even when we can't quite |
