| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:23.7 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, June 9th, 2021. |
| 0:27.6 | Now, all week, we are talking about the sacred heart of Jesus. |
| 0:31.3 | We will be celebrating the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday. |
| 0:35.9 | But all month, all of June, we have dedicated ourselves |
| 0:40.1 | to this devotion. |
| 0:42.6 | Yesterday we talked about St. Margaret Mary, who was a French nun who received visions |
| 0:48.4 | of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. |
| 0:50.5 | And we've also talked about how this devotion reminds us that Christ had a human heart, |

| 1:30.1 | Now, have you ever wondered why do we always depict the sacred heart of Jesus as wounded and constantly bleeding? |
| 1:39.8 | You would think at one point, perhaps it would heal. |
| 1:42.4 | But remember, Christ died on the cross. And after a person |
| 1:48.2 | dies, their wounds do not heal. His wounds remain open and bleeding. In fact, after he rose from |
| 1:57.7 | the dead, even several days after the resurrection when he finally meets Thomas, |
| 2:03.5 | he tells Thomas to put his finger into his open wounds. Those wounds remain open. Now this is |
| 2:10.8 | important because if you remember the story of the centurion who took his lance and thrust it into the side of Christ, we believe |
| 2:20.4 | that that lands went all the way through his side and pierced his heart. And from that wound |
