Hey there, Sprouse. Today is Wednesday, April 14th, 2021. All week, we have been hearing stories from Meg Hunter Kilmer of Saints from around the world. We have another incredible story for you today. Here you go. St. Peter Wu Guo Sheng from China lived from 1768 to 1814. His memorial is November 7th. St. Peter

Wu Guo Shang was not a quiet man.

0:55.0

He was the kind of guy who shouts with delight when you walk into a room and drags you over to meet all his friends.

1:02.0

He was loud and effusive and very excited about quite a lot of things.

So when Gwsheng was working at the hotel he and his wife owned,

1:12.3

2:12.3

God had made him that way and he loved Guo Sheng exactly as he was.

2:17.3

But Guo Sheng began to realize that he needed to be

2:20.3

a little more cautious, a little gentler. He learned when to shout and when to speak more calmly,

2:28.4

when to talk on and on and on and when to listen. Pretty soon, he was ready to be baptized. After that,

2:37.5

Guo Sheng was a force, but not an overwhelming one anymore. He preached the gospel and turned

2:43.8

his hotel into a Christian community and led almost 600 people to Jesus. Eventually, the authorities caught up with him. But even in prison,

2:54.7

Guo Sheng's voice could be heard, leading the others in prayer and preaching the gospel to those
