This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we are once again going to follow Jesus Christ.

Now, if you've been following along with the Catholic Sprouts podcast all year,

you know that we've taken some breaks, but for the most part, we have been studying Jesus this

year. We started with his birth in Bethlehem, learned about that city and why he was born there.

We learned all about Nazareth and the home Jesus most likely grew up in,

his parents, particularly the role of his father. We learned about him calling his early disciples,

his baptism, his preaching, his healing. And now we are at the point where Christ has been doing his public ministry for roughly three years,

and it is time for him to head into Jerusalem for the end of his public ministry.

Now, the reason why this is so important for us to be thinking about this right now is because we are in Lent and we are preparing

for Holy Week when we will deeply celebrate Jesus' death on the cross and we are hoping to enter

fully into that so that we can with Christ rise from the dead on Easter Sunday morning. So the last time we were

studying Jesus, we heard about his transfiguration when he went up to the top of the mountain

was lifted up and the disciples saw him standing there talking to Elijah and Moses. They knew for

sure that this was God's son,

the Messiah, and God himself spoke from heaven with a simple but important message. He said,

Listen to him. This is my beloved son. Listen to him. So those are important words for us to remember as well.
