| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:23.6 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, December 15th, 2020. |
| 0:27.6 | Now, this week, the third week of Advent, we are talking about waiting well. |
| 0:33.9 | We've already talked about how God is here right now, not in the future, so don't skip this |
| 0:39.3 | moment in favor of the future. And God is doing something. God uses Advent to prepare us for |
| 0:46.2 | Christmas. So don't skip Advent. Now, we're going to talk today about how faith and trust |
| 0:54.1 | in God, those two words that kind of mean the same thing, the way we're using them today, how really trusting God and having faith in him is a vital part of waiting well. |
| 1:08.2 | And today we're going to take the example of our blessed mother Mary, who really knew |
| 1:13.6 | how to wait well. Now think about Mary. I hope that you're spending a lot of time with her this |
| 1:20.0 | advent as you wait for Jesus's birth. Think about all of the waiting that she went through. |
| 1:27.0 | Of course, she went through the regular nine |
| 1:28.8 | months of pregnancy, which is a beautiful time of waiting while a mother prepares to meet her |
| 1:34.9 | child. But there was a lot of other waiting. And oftentimes for Mary, it was waiting without |
| 1:41.4 | clear answers. I oftentimes reflect on how the angel told Mary that she would |
| 1:48.6 | have a son and he would be the son of God and he would save his people, but there wasn't any |
| 1:55.6 | explanation really of how that would happen. Maybe God told her those things through prayer, but if we read scripture, |
| 2:04.2 | it seems at least that Mary was sort of left in the dark, and yet she always trusted. She always |
| 2:12.9 | trusted. In fact, people in the Bible point out that she is blessed or holy because she believed that God would do what he said he would do. |
| 2:24.9 | That he would save his people through Jesus Christ. |
| 2:30.1 | So even when things looked bleak like her son was being crucified, she waited and trusted. |
| 2:39.8 | She didn't leap to conclusions. |
| 2:41.8 | She didn't get lost in despair. |
