Welcome back, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, December 9th, 2020. Today is also the Feast of St. Juan Diego.

0:38.4

St. Juan Diego was a humble man who lived in Mexico at the end of the 1400s and the beginning of the 1500s.

0:43.2

Juan and his wife converted to Christianity and fell in love with Jesus.

0:50.9

Then one day as Juan hurried past a small hill on the way to Mass, a beautiful woman appeared to him.

0:52.2

She called Juan her dear and littlest son, and she asked him to go to the

0:57.6

bishop and request that a chapel be built on that spot. Juan, just a humble man, hesitated, but he obeyed.

1:35.7

our Lady of Guadalupe, is still around today. And several years ago, I was able to see that

1:41.9

amazing image when I was in Mexico City. Okay, Sprouts, all

1:46.7

week we've been talking about St. Joseph. Yesterday, we talked about how prayerful he was,

1:51.9

and today we will be chatting about the important role that he played in Jesus' life. Think about

1:58.2

this for just a minute. Jesus was present at the creation of the world.

2:03.8

He is God, and yet he humbled him himself, not just by taking on a human body, but he humbled

2:10.6

himself by taking on everything human.

2:13.6

When he was born, he was weak and fragile, just like any other baby. Also, Jesus humbled himself so

2:21.9

greatly that he allowed humans, his creations, to have authority over him. Jesus, God himself,

2:29.9

was obedient to St. Joseph, and he did all of this out of love for us.
