0:32.6	Welcome back, Sprouts. Today is Monday, December 7, 2020. It is also the feast day of St. Ambrose, a bold and courageous saint who lived during the 300s.
0:38.3	St. Ambrose loved the faith and never shied away from a confrontation. He boldly challenged a heresy that denied the divinity of Jesus and divided the church in his day.
0:44.3	And he also confronted emperors for abuse of their power.
0:48.3	Most remarkably, many faithful begged St. Ambrose to be their bishop before he was even baptized. As a bishop,
0:56.3	Ambrose was a gifted preacher and played a key role in converting the sinner-turned saint,

1:11.8	Advent with you. Because it is Advent, we are going to talk about a very important person as we approach
1:17.6	Christmas. St. Joseph. We are going to be talking about this great saint all week long, and as we do,
1:24.4	I challenge you to join the journey. Just like St. Joseph, we are all on the journey
1:29.4	to Bethlehem, where we will greet our Savior, Jesus Christ. And just as St. Joseph led Mary and Jesus
1:36.4	down that long, dusty trail from Nazareth to Bethlehem, he leads us to. So, to get started,
1:43.6	who was St. Joseph? Well, we don't know a lot about St. Joseph,
1:48.2	but we do know that he was a descendant from the family of King David. Next, we know that he worked
1:55.3	in Nazareth as a carpenter. The Bible also tells us that Joseph was a righteous man and a faithful Jew.
2:02.6	Finally, we know that St. Joseph was the husband of Mary and the loving foster father of Jesus Christ.
2:09.7	So that's a lot of facts, and since we're Catholic, we also have some rich traditions and stories about St. Joseph.

2:19.0	St. Joseph is often shown in paintings and statues as holding a staff that has lilies growing out of
