| 0:17.4 | Hey there, sprouts. Today is Wednesday, February 12th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprouts, |
| 0:29.5 | we are talking about the sacrament of anointing of the sick. We've already talked about how |
| 0:35.3 | Jesus instituted this sacrament as he demonstrated with how much care and love he took with those that were ill that came to him. |
| 0:45.1 | Yesterday, we talked about what happens at the sacrament of anointing of the sick. |
| 0:50.5 | And I asked you to remember to pray for all that would die today. |
| 0:54.6 | Now, today, we are going to start looking at one of three powerful intercessors. |
| 1:00.5 | These are saints that have done amazing things through heaven by praying for the needs of those still on earth. |
| 1:08.9 | The first saint that we're going to talk about today is a saint |
| 1:12.1 | from Holland who lived in the 1300s. So she lived a long time ago. And her name is Saint Ludwina. |
| 1:21.4 | So St. Ludwina lived a good life. She loved Jesus and she decided to dedicate herself entirely to Jesus at the age of 14. |
| 1:32.6 | However, a year later when she was 15 years old, she was out ice skating on a lake with a couple of |
| 1:39.5 | friends. She collided with one of her friends and was so terribly injured by that fall that she was bedridden for the rest of her life. |
| 1:51.8 | She spent the next 38 years in bed. |
| 1:56.6 | And not only that, she was in constant pain. |
| 2:00.7 | Because of her injuries, she had horrible headaches. |
| 2:04.4 | There were so bad that they would make her blind. |
| 2:07.6 | She would vomit. |
| 2:08.8 | She had pain in all of her limbs. |
| 2:12.2 | She suffered greatly. |
| 2:14.9 | But here is the beautiful thing about St. Ledwina. She recognized that her suffering was |
| 2:21.5 | valuable and that she could do something with her suffering. Now, what can you do with suffering? |
