Hey there, sprouts. Today is Wednesday, February 12th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprouts,

we are talking about the sacrament of anointing of the sick. We've already talked about how

Jesus instituted this sacrament as he demonstrated with how much care and love he took with those that were ill that came to him.

Yesterday, we talked about what happens at the sacrament of anointing of the sick.

And I asked you to remember to pray for all that would die today.

Now, today, we are going to start looking at one of three powerful intercessors.

These are saints that have done amazing things through heaven by praying for the needs of those still on earth.

The first saint that we're going to talk about today is a saint

from Holland who lived in the 1300s. So she lived a long time ago. And her name is Saint Ludwina.

So St. Ludwina lived a good life. She loved Jesus and she decided to dedicate herself entirely to Jesus at the age of 14.

However, a year later when she was 15 years old, she was out ice skating on a lake with a couple of

friends. She collided with one of her friends and was so terribly injured by that fall that she was bedridden for the rest of her life.

She spent the next 38 years in bed.

And not only that, she was in constant pain.

Because of her injuries, she had horrible headaches.

There were so bad that they would make her blind.

She would vomit.

She had pain in all of her limbs.

She suffered greatly.

But here is the beautiful thing about St. Ledwina. She recognized that her suffering was

valuable and that she could do something with her suffering. Now, what can you do with suffering?
