You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, August 8th, 2019, and it is also the feast of St. Dominic.

0:27.8

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are exploring our mission statement, letting the Eucharist lead.

0:35.7

We have already talked about how we are all in this Eucharistic procession

0:40.6

following Jesus, who is truly present in the Eucharist. We talked about the miracle of the mass.

0:47.4

We talked about adoration. And today we're going to talk about Mary. Now, maybe that doesn't make much sense to you. If we're

0:57.4

talking about letting the Eucharist lead, why would we get distracted by something completely else

1:04.8

like Mary? Well, Sprouts, I have news for you. Mary is not separate from the Eucharist. She, in fact, is our way to the Eucharist. Let me explain. Many great saints through history have lived by this motto, through Mary to Jesus.

1:33.3

Through Mary to Jesus.

1:48.5

sisters or priests, he is also the person who Mary appeared to and handed him the rosary. So if you say

1:59.8

the rosary, which I hope you do and own one, that was delivered

2:04.5

from Mary to St. Dominic. Now, he was a big lover of Mary, big promoter of Mary, and of course,

2:13.1

was completely devoted to Jesus in the Eucharist. If you think about it, my friends, Jesus

2:20.5

comes to us through Mary, and he always has. This is the way that God intended it to be.

2:31.1

Since God is God, he could have sent Jesus to earth in any way he wanted to. Jesus could have

2:37.9

landed on earth in a spaceship and been born a full grown man, whatever he wanted. But that's not

2:45.1

what God wanted. God wanted this girl, this woman named Mary, to become pregnant, to be his mother, to be the

2:56.3

gate through which he came into the world. Now, not only that, but Mary always points back to

3:07.2

Jesus. Mary doesn't want anything for herself.

3:11.3

Sometimes we can be confused and even think that maybe people worship Mary.

3:18.5

You know what Mary would think of that? She would think that's hilarious.
