| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:14.6 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, May 21st, 2019. This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, |
| 0:26.4 | we are talking about Eucharistic miracles. Yesterday we talked about how belief in the |
| 0:32.9 | Eucharist is a little bit crazy. We are asked to believe without any tangible proof. However, at many points |
| 0:40.3 | in history, God has given us some proof through Eucharistic miracles. Today, we are going to talk |
| 0:47.6 | about the first Eucharistic miracle we're talking about this week. And this one happened in the |
| 0:53.8 | seven hundredths. So a long, long time ago, |
| 0:59.5 | over a thousand years ago, a long time ago. And it happened in the city of Lonsiano, Italy. |
| 1:08.0 | Now, at that time, there was a priest in a parish, and he was struggling to believe that the |
| 1:13.3 | Eucharist was really the body and blood of Jesus Christ. He believed, but he was struggling. |
| 1:20.9 | Now, as he was saying the prayers of consecration, and as he was saying the very words, |
| 1:26.8 | this is my body and this is my blood. As he was |
| 1:30.4 | saying those words, the host in his hand began to bleed. It began to bleed quite a bit. And in fact, |
| 1:39.3 | not only blood appeared, but tissue. Now, the priest was amazed. He obviously had a huge conversion and no |
| 1:49.0 | longer doubted the true presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, but also everyone that was |
| 1:55.0 | there was amazed. And here's the thing, my friends. They began to fall down and venerate this host that is bleeding |
| 2:03.6 | and has tissue coming out of it. That host was preserved. And guess what? Even though this was |
| 2:11.4 | over a thousand years ago, over, I mean, over a thousand years ago, even though it happened so |
| 2:17.3 | long ago, this host is still there. |
| 2:21.1 | This host is preserved and on display in the parish where this miracle occurred. |
| 2:27.4 | So it has endured all of these over a thousand years. |
| 2:31.3 | It has not disintegrated and the blood and tissue are still present. |
