Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, May 16th, 2019.

This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we have been talking about Our Lady of Fatima.

We talked about the three visionary children that Mary appeared to.

We talked about what Mary looked like when she appeared.

And yesterday we talked about her message, that we needed to pray, that we should offer

our suffering to Jesus, as well as the three secrets that she revealed to the children

in July.

Now, today, we're going to talk about the final time that Mary appeared to the children.

This occurred on October 13th, 1917. Remember, she had been peering to the children on the 13th of

each month, at least when they could make it there. And they knew that October would be her final appearance.

Lucia had begged Mary that she somehow provide a sign so that the church authorities,

that their parents, that everyone would know that this was real, that the message they were

bringing back from Mary really was

coming from Mary. And so they knew, they hoped, they believed that Mary would provide this

sign in October. Word spread, and many, many, many people followed them to the pasture to see this sign on the 13th of

October. In fact, some sources say that as many as 70,000 people crowded into this pasture to

see what the sign might be. Now, the visionaries saw something very different

than the people that gathered there that day. Lucia reports that they saw many visions that day.

Instead of seeing just Mary, they also saw Jesus. They saw St. Joseph blessing the world. And they saw

not only Our Lady of Fatima as she appeared wearing white. They also saw Our Lady of Sorrows

and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. So they saw many, many beautiful visions up in the heavens.
