Hey there, Sprouse. Today is Tuesday, April 23rd, and of course, we are in the Easter season.

Today is also the feast day of St. George the Dragon Slayer. This week on the Catholic Spouts

great God died but rose again. Today, we're going to backtrack a little bit and talk about something

We're going to talk about what happened to Jesus between the time when he died and he rose again.

Now, we recite a creed, which is a list of our beliefs, and here is what that creed says about Jesus Christ. It says that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered

under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

On the third day, he rose again of fulfillment to the scriptures. So that's just

a little snippet from our creed. We of course know that God is his true father, by conceived through

Now, what does this mean?

Well, it kind of is a complicated topic, so let's unfold it.

First of all, the word hell is the word that the early apostles used to explain what happened to Jesus. And hell at the time, or whatever word they were using in Greek,

referred to the place where all of the dead went. Remember, the gates of heaven were not thrown

open to us or to people that lived before us until Jesus offered up his blood in repayment for our sins. So before him, the dead went somewhere else.
