Today is the fifth day in the fourth month in the year of our Lord,

2020.

My name is Sir Roland Paderlott, and you're listening to Saturdays with Sir Roland

on Catholic Sprouts, where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon slain.

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Vincent Fierre. St. Vincent lived in the late 14th century at a time when plague,

famine, and war devastated the world, and heresy and division was tearing the church apart.

St. Vincent was a powerful preacher who preached repentance and unity within the church,

and so he is a great saint to pray to today, especially during Lent, and during a time of many

divisions in our world. Division in our world and in our church is not something new, as it often

comes from the dangerous blue dragon of wrath. That dragon will be our focus of discussion as we continue

telling the story of salvation history through the lens of the seven deadly dragons. So far we've

discussed how the red dragon of pride wounded Adam and Eve, how the orange dragon of envy wounded

Kane, how Noah and his family was able to persevere in fighting the yellow dragon of sloth,

and how Abraham and Isaac successfully passed the test against the green dragon of greed.

We left off with God stopping the sacrifice of Isaac at the last second, sparing his life

because Abraham and Isaac had learned to trust in God's divine plan. God's promise to Abraham that he would have

descendants as numerous as the stars was still going to come to fruition, for Isaac would live to have
