You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

0:19.3

Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, April 17th, 2019. We of course still are in the last

0:27.5

week of Lent, Holy Week. And Wednesday, traditionally people celebrate or call this day

0:34.6

Spy Wednesday.

0:44.9

This is referring to Judas, who most likely spent the day before Holy Thursday,

0:48.5

lining up the way that he would betray Jesus.

0:56.7

So we think about Judas, meeting with the high priests and setting an amount of money that he would receive before betraying Jesus. Today, we are going to continue to talk about the remarkable

1:49.4

unleavened bread, bitter herbs, and they eat it in a way that remembers God's great mercy

1:57.3

that rescued them. Now, it is not a coincidence that Jesus used this feast and this meal

2:05.1

as a time to institute the Eucharist. All of the Old Testament happened, and it was all talking

2:13.6

about the coming of the Messiah. All of the prophets, everyone that came foreshadowed Jesus Christ.

2:23.9

And at the Last Supper and at the cross, Jesus fulfills all of those promises.

2:31.7

What we learn at the Last Supper is that the events of the Passover are just the very

2:37.6

first part of the story. They're just clues that help us recognize God's plan once it is complete.
