1:18.5 | So what does this mean? Well, we know that love is a choice, that love is a lot more than a feeling, |
1:26.8 | although I oftentimes can feel loved or feel |
1:30.3 | like I want to be loving towards someone else. Love is a choice that leads to an action or |
1:38.3 | withholding an action about, am I going to gossip, am I going to do this charitable work for someone else? |
1:46.6 | Am I going to give some of my money to the poor so that they can have warm clothing and food? |
1:52.3 | Those are all choices that we make with the virtue of love. |
1:58.0 | We also know that Jesus Christ commanded us to love our neighbor as our self. Love is how I need to |
2:08.6 | treat my neighbor. And so loving another person is willing the good of that person. Now, |
2:16.8 | oftentimes when we are confronted with another person, loving them or |
2:22.3 | choosing what is good for them may ask that I compromise what I want to do or what I had planned to do. |
2:29.5 | And so love is being willing to suffer or sacrifice for the good of another person. Now, you do this all |
2:38.2 | the time, or maybe you can choose not to do this all the time. We're all struggling to love. |
