Hey there, sproutsouts. Today is Tuesday, August 13th, 20204. Today is also the feast day of St. Maximus

0:30.9

the confessor. St. Maximus lived in the 600th. He lived in what is now the eastern part of Europe. And he has been given

0:41.0

the title confessor because he did not die a martyr for the faith, but he suffered horrible

0:47.4

persecution simply because he continued to speak the truth. Now, at this time, there was a heresy that had been embraced by the emperor

1:47.9

fully human, fully divine. The emperor was not happy with him. In the end, he spent many years in

1:55.5

prison. And after a unfair trial, St. Maximus, the confessor, had his tongue cut out and his hands cut off,

2:06.7

so he could no longer preach or write. And yet he continued to share this truth and to really promote the truth that we believe and state in our creed every Sunday at Mass.

2:19.8

Now this week we are talking about B for Bible, and we are going to continue to talk about that,

2:25.9

but first, please join me in our August prayer, the Memerare.

2:30.5

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

2:36.7

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known,

2:42.0

that anyone who fled to thy protection implored thy help or sought,
