Today, we celebrate the memorial of the

Immaculate Heart of Mary. This celebration follows the day after the solemnity of the Sacred

Heart of Jesus because Jesus and Mary's hearts are united together in the common mission of the

salvation of souls. The hearts of Jesus and Mary are both filled with passion and love,

and as we've discussed before,

passion and love isn't just some warm, fuzzy feeling. It involves sacrifice and suffering.

We've discussed in the past that the weapon of choice for Mary is the sword of humility.

But did you know that Mary's immaculate heart was actually pierced by seven swords?

Seven sorrows? Seven is a very holy number.

So I think that is no coincidence. As we face fight and defeat the seven deadly dragons,

Mary can be our greatest guide as the mother of our Lord who suffered so much. So today, I thought

we would take a look at the seven swords that pierce the heart of Mary
