This week we are continuing our 40 days with the Martyr's Lenten Series! Join us in saying this prayer each day:

ST PETER'S CHAINS PRAYER:

O God, Who caused St. Peter, the apostle, to depart, loosed from his chains and unhurt,

loose, we beg You, the chains of our sins,

and graciously keep all evils far from us.

Bless us this Lent and give us the faith of the martyrs.

We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

0:34.7	Today we are talking about a martyr from the 1700s who lived in India, St. Devis
0:41.3	Shaham. Before we talk about him, though, please join me in our Lenton prayer, St. Peter's Chains.

1:13.7	We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. We really have been traveling through time and
1:20.9	space. We have been to Germany, to Rome, to Uganda, and today we are stopping in India.
1:29.1	So like many of the countries in Asia, the faith came a little bit later to India.
1:35.9	And also, like many of the countries in Asia, many people died before the Catholic faith,
1:44.1	the Christian faith was accepted accepted, and people were
1:47.4	able to practice this faith publicly. One of those people to die in India was Deva Shaham.
1:54.6	So Deva Shaham came from a Hindi family. They practiced the Hindi religion. And they were a pretty wealthy family. He, like Charles
2:05.4	Luonga, was a smart guy, a good-looking guy. He advanced through the ranks. He was noticed by
2:12.9	the king of India, and he was given an important job in the king's court. Now, it was at the king's court
