ST PETER'S CHAINS PRAYER:

O God, Who caused St. Peter, the apostle, to depart, loosed from his chains and unhurt,

loose, we beg You, the chains of our sins,

and graciously keep all evils far from us.

Bless us this Lent and give us the faith of the martyrs.

We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

AMEN

0:31.3	Hey there, sprouts. Today is Friday, February 16th, 2020. Today is also the first Friday of Lent after Ash Wednesday, the third day of Lent. We are continuing on with our Lenton program here on the Catholic Spouts
0:40.2	podcast where we talk about 40 martyrs for the 40 days of Lent. Today we are traveling to
0:48.3	the Congo to hear about a saint called the Little Flower of Africa, Saint and Eurite.

1:06.6	O God, who caused St. Peter the Apostle to depart, loose from his chains and unhurt.

1:42.1	Ann Ueri lived between 1939 and 1964. She, just like the two other martyrs
1:50.6	we have talked about this week, St. Agnes and St. Andrew Dunglock, was not born Christian. She was
1:57.3	born the daughter, the sixth daughter, of a poor farmer in the Congo.
2:03.0	Now, since her parents were pagan, they had no understanding about marriage and faithfulness.
2:09.7	So when she was born, her father was very frustrated that she was not a boy.
2:14.4	And so he sent her mother away.
