Today is the fourth day in the 11th month in the year of our Lord, 2023.

My name is Cyril and Peterlau, and you're listening to Saturdays with Sir Alone and

Catholic Sprouts where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragons saying.

Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Charles Borromeo.

St. Charles lived in the 16th century and was instrumental in helping the church form a counter-reformation.

The Reformation was when Martin Luther and others began to break away from the Catholic Church

due to corruptions or doubt in the doctrines of the church.

St. Charles's uncle was Pope Pius I.

the fourth, and Pope Pius I saw the brilliance in his young nephew and quickly made him a

cardinal and relied on him to help form the Council of Trent. St. Charles was known for his

ability to get people to work together peacefully and to find solutions and clarify the goodness,

beauty and truth of the Catholic faith. St. Charles had a passion for saving

souls, and he once said, Nothing brings more joy to the church than those who restore souls to spiritual

life, thus despoiling hell, defeating the devil, casting out sin, opening heaven, making the angels

glad, glorifying the most holy trinity, and preparing themselves for a never-fating crown.

Let's ask St. Charles Borromeo to pray for us and pray for our church today, that we can heal

our divisions and clearly speak the goodness, beauty, and truth of our Catholic faith for the

salvation of souls. For today's lesson, I'd like to once again play our game called Guess the Dragon, but this time we're going to do it using real-life examples of kids slaying dragons in today's world.
