This week we are taking a break from our exploration of the 10 Commandments to learn about death and what happens after death.

  • Monday: learn to call on Mary to prepare for death.

  • Tuesday: explore particular and final judgment.

  • Wednesday: on All Saints Day, learn about the eternal joy of heaven!

  • Thursday: on All Souls Day, learn about purgatory and why we need to pray so diligently for the dead.

  • Friday: And finally, we need to learn about Hell, a real place that no one need go to. So, let's pray for our own souls and the souls of others!

Hey there, sprouts. Today is Monday, October 30th, 2023. Today we are taking a little bit of a break from the Ten Commandments, which we have been plowing our way through. And we are going to spend this week talking about death and all the things at the end,

including the three destinations where our soul can be sent following judgment when we die.

But before we start in on that, let's pray Vene Creator Spiritus,

which JP2, our patron for the B.S.A. St. Kids Club, is challenging us to learn this month. And let's

call down the power of the Holy Spirit to guide us, to keep us from any unhealthy fear,

and to prepare us well for our own death.

Come Holy Spirit, Creator blessed, and in our souls, take up thy rest.

week. Of course, you're probably getting excited to celebrate Halloween tomorrow, but we have a

holy day of obligation, All Saints Day on the 1st November. And then the second

day in November, the second, we celebrate All Souls Day, a day of prayer and remembrance for those

that have died, and in particular for those that are in purgatory being purified for heaven.
