It's week two of our series on the 10 Commandments! This week we will be discussing, YOU SHALL NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD YOUR GOD IN VAIN.

Monday: God shared His name with us through Moses at the burning bush and through the Incarnation. Why is this such a HUGE deal?
Tuesday: Fear of the Lord, a gift of the Holy Spirit, allows us to obey the 2nd Commandment. What is Fear of the Lord and how is it NOT contrary to love?
Wednesday: On the Feast of St. John Chrysostom, we discuss the power of our words and how we need to strive to never commit blasphemy or make a casual promise in Jesus's Name.Thursday: On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross we explore the power of Jesus's name, which in itself is a powerful prayer.
Friday: Finally, what about our names as Christians, people who have been Baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?

0:31.9	Hey there, Spouts. Today is Tuesday, September 12th, 2023. Today is also the feast of the most holy name of Mary. Now, this is a new feast to me, although it is not a new feast for our church. Our church
0:40.6	has been celebrating this feast day for over a thousand years. This week we are talking about
0:46.7	the Second Commandment, which commands us to respect the name of God, to use it well and with
0:52.9	respect. And this feast day today is a reminder that when we
0:57.9	respect God, we respect all the things that are important to him. And if you have a wonderful
1:05.7	mother in your life, I bet if someone badmouthed her, you would be pretty upset. And the love that we have for
1:14.0	our own mother is nothing compared to the love that Jesus has for his mother. So we respect
1:21.9	Mary's name because we respect her son. We sing praises of Mary for her goodness and how much she loves us
1:31.3	and takes care of us because that delights Jesus. It delights him to hear wonderful things said
1:38.4	about his mother, just as it probably delights you for good things to happen to your mom.
1:45.6	And so let's all just remember this beautiful feast day
1:49.0	and make sure that when we speak about Jesus,
1:51.5	but also all of the saints, all sacred objects,
1:55.1	that we speak with respect.
1:58.8	So, Saurats, before we return to our conversation of the Second Commandment,
