Greetings young Squires Sprouts. Today is the 12th day in the eighth month in the year of our Lord, 2023. My name is Sir Roland Peter Lot and you're listening to Saturdays with Sir Roland on

Catholic Sprouts where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon slain. Last week we finished our

series on the five steps to winning a battle against a dragon.

Step one was to know you're in a battle.

Step two was to know the dragon you are facing.

Step three was to free yourself from the bondage of the dragon.

Step four was to have a shield to protect you from the dragon.

And step five was to fight back against the dragon or have a weapon.

But how you may ask, do you accomplish all these steps? Well, the first step to each step is to

pray. Prayer is essential to dragon slain because dragon slain is an art. It requires great skill

and patience and perseverance and proper techniques and a lot of luck, or not

really luck, but grace. Here's the sad reality. Dragons are smarter than you. I'm not saying that to

make you feel bad. Dragons are smarter than me too. It takes great humility to admit that you need help.

This is why humility is so key and foundational to learning any virtue or

weapon and why it is the first virtue we are focusing on in this first month of the Catholic

Sprouts Clubhouse. If you're like me, you are often tempted to just jump right in and start

fighting dragons. But each dragon we face requires a specific battle strategy. There are specific directions we must

follow to defeat the dragon, and only God has those directions. God is the master general, the ultimate

slayer, the one who is the best dragon slayer, the one who was the best dragon slayer, and the one who
