Hello, Sprouts.

Today is July 10th, and it's Monday the 14th week in ordinary time.

My name is Chris Carstens, and I'm going to be your guest host for the week.

I work in the worship office for the Diocese of Lacrosse in Wisconsin.

And I also edit a prayer publication called the Adorama's Bulletin. But mostly what I do is to help people to pray and pray especially

the Mass, and especially my own eight kids. And praying the Mass is going to be our topic for the

week. So let's get started.

And we're going to start at the door.

Because praying the Mass means getting off on the right foot.

So even before the sign of the cross at the beginning of Mass,

we have to get our minds and our senses and our souls and our hearts and our eyes right.

Jesus says some strange things, or at least on the surface of it, some strange things in the Bible.

One of them is, I am the door.

Now, as I say, this seems like a strange thing to say, at least for me.

I don't know what you think, but have you ever called yourself a door or a window or a chair or a table or anything like that?

What could Jesus possibly mean when he says, I am the door? Well, when we read some of the stories in the Bible, Jesus makes some sense here.

This line that he says starts to become clearer to us. If we go all the way

back to the Garden of Eden, there was a tree in the middle of the garden called the Tree of Life,

and there's a tree next to it called the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. And our first
