Summary

The Sacred Heart of Jesus feast day is this Friday! Let's prepare for this great feast day by learning about Jesus and His Heart that is meek, humble and so desiring our love. This week we will explore the union of human and divine love in the Sacred Heart. We will also discuss the parts of the image of the Sacred Heart and how the Sacred Heart allows us to understand that ways in which Jesus continues to suffer as He loves us. We also have three incredible saints we are celebrating this week, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Germain Cousin and St. Lutgardis. These saints all deeply loved Jesus and had a true encounter with the Heart of Jesus.

0:42.9	Today is also the feast of an incredible saint who had a powerful devotion to Jesus in his heart.
0:51.7	Her name is Saint Luttgart.
0:58.4	She lived in Belgium in the 11 and 1200s.
1:04.2	And today on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are going to hear her incredible story.
1:16.3	And I hope that it draws you even closer to Jesus and his heart. So St. Luttgart grew up in Belgium. She was sort of religious,
1:22.9	not really. She ended up living in the convent at a young age because her father made a foolish business decision and lost her dowry. Now, the dowry was a sum of money that a woman's family
1:30.8	would pay to her husband's family. And without that money, at the time, women could not get married.
1:38.3	So St. Luke Gard was sent to the convent just because there was no other options for her.
1:42.9	So she lived there, but she wasn't very interested
1:45.5	in religious life. And in fact, she was a little naughty. She had a little boyfriend that she would
1:51.4	sneak into the convent, into the parlor, and just talk to while the other nuns were praying.
